“Love In Disguise” by Carol Cox

About the Book:

Can she solve the crime before they uncover her true identity?

Jobless and down to her last dime, Ellie Moore hears about a position with the Pinkerton Detective Agency and believes it’s the perfect chance to put her acting skills and costumes to use. Reluctantly, the agency agrees to give her one assignment, one chance to prove herself. Disguised as Lavinia Stewart, a middle-aged widow, Ellie travels to Arizona to begin her investigation. When the need arises, she also transforms into the dazzling Jessie Monroe, whose vivacious personality encourages people to talk.

Mine owner Steven Pierce is going to lose his business if he can’t figure out who’s stealing his silver shipments. In his wildest dreams, he never expected to receive help from a gray-haired widow…or to fall in love with her beautiful niece.

Then the thieves come after Lavinia and Jessie. Ellie isn’t safe no matter which character she plays! Should she give up and reveal her true identity? What will Steven do when he realizes the woman he’s falling in love with doesn’t really exist?

My Thoughts:

I finished this book in a couple of hours only because I could not put it down! It was as if my eyes were glued to the pages and I simply could not detach myself from them, I had to keep reading. I absolutely loved this book! I was pretty much hooked since page one! I really felt connected with the characters, especially Ellie, she had so much to go through and I felt like I had a front seat to the whole thing. Something I also enjoyed was the fact that some parts were told in other character’s point of views so  the reader could get a different insight. I can honestly say it never go boring and that rise, that climax that we always wait for in a book definitely came and I was more than pleased. One of my favorite parts would be the ending, it was so well written that I even read it several times, and every time I read it over it felt like the first. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole story and I give this book 5 stars. This is the first book I’ve read by Carol Cox but now I really look forward to reading more. Recommend this to anyone looking for a good mystery/romance/humor book to read.
